LILY CLARK MEDIA
Assignment: One Month Away Graphic

For this assignment, I wanted to emphasize our location on Coney Island, as it is a major identifier of our brand. See before and after above.

In order to have the player appear as if he's driving the boat, I needed his posture to match the man's in the stock photo. This required merging two players to obtain a forward-facing chest and a side profile of the face.

Once I had my "Frankenstein" player, I carefully manipulated him into the stock photo to replace the man shown to the right. Additionally, I applied a levels and saturation mask over the man's legs to match the same hue as our players' uniforms.

Next, I manipulated two players into the passengers' seated positions. This first required me to remove the passengers in the stock photo, which I did with Adobe AI. I also gave the players a sun-kissed look by adding CUBE files and color grading.

After the boat was completed, I added more details to enhance the atmosphere, including seagulls, the sea plane, and the Cyclones flag. These elements had to be edited individually to ensure they had consistent light sources and shadows as well.

With the majority of the graphic assembled, I applied final touches. I edited the Coney Island background, adjusting highlights and shadows so that the white cloud mass did not distract from the foreground. I also applied a slight gaussian blur to give depth of field.

Lastly, I imported the flattened graphic into Lightroom, adding a final photo filter, lens flare, levels adjustment, and color touchup. The final graphic provides a feeling of movement and warmth while informing the viewer we are a baseball team located on Coney Island.
